Cyber Fusion Unit (CFU)

The CARICOM IMPACS Cyber Fusion Unit (CFU) was established on 1 February 2024 and is housed at the at the Regional Intelligence Fusion Center (RIFC) based at the Agency’s headquarters in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.

The CFU is dedicated to protecting the region's critical infrastructure, promoting trust and cooperation, and enhancing the overall cyber resilience of CARICOM Member States.

CFU Vision

  • The CFU envisions a secure and resilient environment in Member States, where security, cybercrime investigation, diplomacy, defense, solidarity, legislation, and strategy are effectively integrated and coordinated to protect critical infrastructure, promote trust and cooperation, and enhance the region's overall cyber resilience.

CFU Mission

The CFU is committed to leading CARICOM's efforts in cyber security, cybercrime investigations, cyber diplomacy and cyber defense by:

  • Fostering collaboration and information sharing between CARICOM Member States and international partners to strengthen cyber security and combat cybercrime.
  • Supporting the development and implementing comprehensive cyber strategies, policies, and legislation that align with international best practices and standards.
  • Building the capacity of CARICOM Member States to prevent, detect, and respond to cyber threats through training, education, and awareness programs.
  • Providing technical assistance and support to CARICOM Member States in the areas of cyber security, cybercrime investigation, cyber defense, and cyber diplomacy.
  • Encouraging cyber solidarity and mutual aid among CARICOM Member States to enhance regional cyber resilience.
  • Promoting research, development, and innovation in cyber security, cybercrime investigation, cyber defense and cyber diplomacy to stay ahead of emerging threats and trends.
