Message from the Executive Director, CARICOM IMPACS on International Men's Day 2025.

On behalf of The Caribbean Community Implementation Agency for Crime and Security, I extend warm greetings to all men and boys across our Region as we observe International Men's Day 2025 under the crucial theme, “Celebrating Men and Boys”.

This day offers a vital opportunity to recognize and celebrate the positive values, contributions, and achievements of men and boys in our families, communities, and countries. We acknowledge the diverse roles men play—as fathers, sons, brothers, partners, educators, leaders, and security professionals—and the profound impact they have on shaping our Caribbean society.

At CARICOM IMPACS, we are keenly aware of the indispensable role men play in fostering a secure and stable Caribbean. From the uniformed officers on the frontlines of regional security to the quiet community leaders mentoring the next generation, men’s commitment is fundamental to our mandate.

This year's theme encourages us to focus on the importance of promoting positive male role models, celebrating diversity in manhood, and prioritizing the health and well-being of men and boys.

While we celebrate, we must also acknowledge the complex challenges that continue to affect the lives of men and boys in our Region, including issues related to education, employment, non-communicable diseases, and involvement in crime and violence.

CARICOM IMPACS remains committed to supporting initiatives that address these root causes, particularly those focused on empowering young men to choose paths that lead to success and positive contributions, thereby enhancing the overall security and resilience of our communities. A secure Caribbean is one where every man and boy has the opportunity to thrive and contribute their full potential.

I encourage everyone—men, women, and institutions—to take a moment today to acknowledge and appreciate the men and boys in your lives. Let us use this International Men's Day to renew our collective efforts to ensure every man and boy in the CARICOM Region is celebrated, supported, and empowered to contribute positively to a safe, secure, and prosperous Caribbean community.
